I’m sure all of you have thoroughly enjoyed the recent stint of beautiful weather, but sadly all good things come to an end. It appears our streak will end later tonight, as our next system moves in. Rainfall chances will increase by tomorrow morning. As you head out for your Monday morning commute, it will likely be raining. Some of the rainfall could be heavy at times.
We could dry out as we progress through the afternoon, but some isolated showers could linger around. While not a guarantee, I wouldn’t rule out the possibility of a strong thunderstorm or two Monday afternoon/evening.
The biggest weather story is the rainfall over the next several days. While it won’t rain all day every day, it may feel like it as there is numerous shots at rainfall through this week into next weekend. This mentioned rainfall could be heavy at times. I would be surprised if a few severe weather chances didn’t sneak into the forecast also.
Long range models (at least through mid-month) have suggested rainfall totals of over 8 inches, this includes the Arkansas River Valley. While this obviously wouldn’t fall all at once and may be a bit exaggerated, the threat of flooding may arise.
Just something to watch for now. You can follow me on Facebook and Twitter for continuous weather updates.
