A meeting of the Sebastian County Quorum Court, which was slated to be held on Tuesday evening, May 19, was postponed due to technical difficulties.
The anticipated meeting was broadcast from the homes of several Justice of the Peace, including Valeria Robinson, Jackie Davis, Linda Murry, Karla Reedy, James Butler, and Jeffrey Turner.
One item on the agenda in particular drew a lot of interest from area residents, an ordinance entitled “Constitutional Rights Sanctuary for Sebastian County.”
Wade Dunn addressed the court, stressing the importance of preserving our God-given rights and freedoms. Although JP Shawn Looper motioned in support of the bill, technical difficulties interfered with an official vote.
Remote JP’s weren’t able to respond to the live session taking place at the safe shelter at Greenwood High School. Feedback and audio issues also caused interference.
The meeting will be rescheduled, although that date is yet to be announced.
