Members of the Sebastian County 4-H met on Saturday, December 21 at the Sebastian County Fairgrounds. The group set aside the day to work and make a difference in the community by participating in a day of giving.
To fulfill their pledge to put their “hands to larger service,” 4-H members met early this month to make Christmas cards and put together care packages for the residents of Golden Years Retirement Village and the Greenwood Retirement Center.
Today, 89 care packages were delivered. Residents also enjoyed the Christmas caroling. Lots of smiles were shared throughout the day!
“We made Christmas cards and delivered gifts to bring holiday cheer to people. Everyone enjoyed our visit and liked singing along,” said 4-H member, Laney Slate.
The 4-H Leader added, “this is a great community service to get involved with, it is important for youth to realize there are people in need and the importance of helping others. The kids did great and residents were excited.”
