SCSO Seeks Assistance in Identifying Suspect

On August 11, 2020, the Sebastian County Sheriff’s Office took a report from lady who had returned to her car, which was parked at Choctaw Casino, and discovered her purse had been stolen.

According to Captain Philip Pevehouse, stolen items included $7,000 in cash, an iPhone, debit and credit cards, some prescription drugs, and checks.

Several days later the victim discovered someone with her ID had cashed a check for $1,000 at a bank in Fort Smith.

Investigators were able to obtain surveillance footage from the bank of the person who passed the victim’s check. SCSO is asking for the public’s help in identifying and locating this person. Anyone with information is asked to call 479-783-1051 and ask for CID. Callers may remain anonymous if they wish.
