Tielor Jay Virginia of Greenwood was booked into the Sebastian County Detention Center on September 4 at 4:50 p.m. and remains at the SCADC. Virginia was charged with domestic battering third degree – purposely misdemeanor, false imprisonment- first degree felony, and interfering with emergency communications – 1st degree misdemeanor.
Greenwood Police Department:
On September 4 at approximately 2:20 a.m., a Greenwood officer observed a Subaru Crosstrek and suspected the driver to be impaired. While following the vehicle, he observed the driver travel left of center, use the turn signal and not turn, use the turn signal when there was no place to turn, and then stop in the middle of the roadway and reverse. The officer initiated a traffic stop at the intersection of N. Daisy / E. Knoxville, and made contact with the driver. The officer asked for the identification of both the driver and passenger. The driver exited her vehicle to retrieve her identification, and followed the officer back to his vehicle. The officer questioned her about the passenger, Eric Newberry 27 of Greenwood. She stated she did not know Newberry and had picked him up at a gas station in Alma. It was confirmed through dispatch that Newberry had an outstanding warrant for his arrest. Newberry was booked into the Sebastian County Detention Center on September 4 and remains at the SCADC. Newberry was charged with failure to appear – class C felony.
